Coffee Shop Name Generator
Give it one word that means something to you — a street, a person, a colour — and it builds 12 shop names using eight different naming techniques.
Add a keyword first. One concrete word works best: ember, harbor, dusk, kettle.
Type a keyword, pick a shop type, then press Generate. Click any name to copy it.
Say the name out loud at a drive-thru window before you commit. Anything past three syllables gets shortened by regulars inside a month, so choose the short form yourself and print that on the cup. Then check availability in this order: your state or county business register, the USPTO trademark database, then the domain. The .com is the easiest of the three to work around; the trademark is not.
How do I check a coffee shop name is actually free to use?
Search your state or county business register first, then the USPTO trademark database for class 43, which covers cafes and restaurants. An available domain tells you nothing about trademark risk, so run the register check before you fall in love with a name.
Does my domain have to match the shop name exactly?
It helps, but a close match works. If the exact .com is gone, adding your city or the word coffee is fine. Most regulars find you through map search and Instagram, not by typing a URL.
How long should a coffee shop name be?
Two words, or under twelve characters, is the practical limit. The name has to fit on a cup, a window and a sidewalk board without shrinking to nothing, and your staff have to say it on the phone twenty times a day.
Can I trademark a name from this generator?
The names are generated in your browser and nobody else receives them, so nothing here stops you filing. Whether a specific name can be registered depends on what already exists in class 43, so run a trademark search before you print signage.
