Enter one word you want your closet to be about. You get twelve names per press, each tagged with the naming technique that built it, so you can tell which direction is working.

Type one word into Keyword — a fabric, a colour, an era, or your own first name — then press Generate.
Say the name out loud before you commit to it. Most of your traffic arrives through shares and comments, where your handle sits inches from the item — so a name that has to be spelled out loses the buyer at the exact moment she would have searched for you. Two checks before you settle: that the handle is free on Instagram and TikTok as well as Poshmark, and that the name still fits after you branch out of one category. VintageDenimVault boxes you in the day you list a pair of boots.
Should my closet name say what I sell?
Only if you plan to keep selling it. A category name like Denim Depot earns instant recognition and helps buyers remember you, but it works against you the day you list a handbag. If you are still testing categories, pick a name built on a feeling or a word you like, and let the listings do the describing.
How do I know if a closet name is already taken?
Search the name inside the Poshmark app first, then check the same handle on Instagram and TikTok, then run it through a domain search. If it is taken in two of the three places, keep looking. A buyer who sees your name in a share and goes looking for you elsewhere should land on you, not on someone else.
Does a shorter name really perform better?
Shorter names get typed correctly, and typing is how people find you once they close the app. Aim for something a buyer can repeat after hearing it once. Two short words beat one long invented word almost every time, unless the invented word is easy to spell.
Can I change my closet name later?
Your display name and your username are treated differently, and the rules change over time, so check what your account settings currently allow before you commit. The safer approach is to choose a name you can grow into, and to avoid printing it on packaging until you have used it for a full season.
